"Media" used to mean "print media" like books and newspapers, but the world has grown. Today media can also mean radio, television and movies delivered to personal computers, tablets and cell phones. As the world's best selling book of all time the Bible continues to make headlines, both good and bad, across all forms of media. Renown physicist and author of the "string theory" Micho Kaku supports intelligent design of the universe, a signet ring found in 1968 is determined to be the seal of Pontius Pilot, and two men are miraculously spared when they heed the voice of God.

I've argued the existence of God from a purely logical stand. One can claim the Big Bang theory is responsible for the present universe, but then you run into the problem of where the primordial egg that caused the universe came from. Strict naturalists keep pushing the timeline further and further back, but there has to be a first cause at some point in time. One of the world's most respected scientists has a different take. Micho Kaku, one of the developers of "string theory", stated recently, “To me it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created and shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.” Now it should be noted that Kaku is not a Christian nor does he believe that God interacts with humanity at any level. He does, however, adhere to intelligent design. That's a start, I suppose.

Speaking of physics, a new form of photographic imaging has confirmed that a ring unearthed in a dig back in 1968 is indeed the seal ring of Pontius Pilot. Yes, that Pontius Pilot, the one who governed Jerusalem during the time of Jesus. The first evidence of the historicity of Pilate was found on a stone block bearing his name to the theater in Caesarea, but the seal ring reveals that Pilate was indeed a ruler. Once more the Bible's account of history is confirmed by archaeology.

Normally I'm skeptical of stories like this next one. People who hear the voice of God are usually crackpots. That is not the case with Kenneth Bryant and Jordan Cole. The two men were staying with a broken down truck on the Ohio turnpike when they heard a voice telling them to get out of the truck. Both men had an immediate compulsion to obey, and did so. Seconds later an 18 wheeler hit their vehicle, mangling it beyond recognition. The men were taking the truck to a pastors conference in Philadelphia. Bryant testified that "God kept us safe, God kept us alive." Why do I believe their story over the thousands out there? Both men are believers, both men appear rational, and because I've had a similar experience. Sitting at a stoplight in my small two-seat convertible I was ready to hit the accelerator hard when the light turned green. When it did finally change from red, my foot left the break and I heard an audible voice that said two simple words: "Don't go." I put my foot back on break as a semi truck came barreling through the intersection, through the red light and, had I gone when I'd planned, right through my vehicle too. I don't claim to hear God regularly, that was the first and only time in my life I've had such an experience. Just like the two men in this story. So, yeah, God is real and he, or guardian angels, do sometimes come to the rescue.
