Last week, after getting ready for work, I checked the weather app on my phone. It was one degree outside. “One degree?!” I thought. “That’s all we get? Just one? I don’t mean to be greedy, but I’d prefer at least 49 more of those.” Despite the cold weather there is a lot to celebrate this time of year. Christmas is fast approaching and of course it is at the top of the list of things to celebrate. Christmas is all about the incarnation of God, Jesus, both 100 percent man and 100 percent God at the same time.

With sincere praise to God, we at Think-Biblically.com have even more to celebrate this year. Last November 17 we celebrated 3 years bringing the world news and biblical analysis in a way that teaches one how to (forgive me) think biblically. From the first post about who we are to yesterday’s closing of our series on the Gospel of Luke, we’ve covered a lot of ground. The five top all time, most read posts are listed below if you’d like to revisit them.

  1. The Purpose of Holiness
  2. Forms of Prayer
  3. True Liberty
  4. 3 Big Lies the World Tells
  5. Meaning of Marriage

The top five articles of this last year are:

  1. Apologetics Series
  2. Ideologies Against Christianity Series
  3. Titus Brandsma
  4. The Love Feast
  5. Why Suffering?

Today we celebrate our 500th post to the site! A milestone for any blogger, it is particularly satisfying for me. Writing at least three articles a week every week for three years has been a blessing and a challenge, one that I hope to continue for another three years (let’s hit 1,000 posts together). Perhaps before then I’ll have graduated to video blogging instead. Who knows?

Very soon we will be celebrating the release of our first book (we’re putting the finishing production touches on it now). We really hoped to have it available in time for Black Friday, but my schedule did not permit that to happen. Formatting for e-readers is a lot different than for print, and I’m still learning the ropes. After this first work about Jonah, a collaboration with life-long friend Leonard Cook, I’ll have the know-how necessary to convert some of our previous series’ into books as well.

And more than any of these accomplishments I celebrate you, dear reader. Your allegiance to God and dedication to connecting with him and thinking his thoughts after him is truly inspirational. If it were not for each of you, some reading others sharing their thoughts in the Facebook group, and some emailing their stories to me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you want to share your thoughts), I can honestly say I wouldn’t be able to do what I do. I hope you’ll remember that you inspire me to greater faithfulness, even as my writing intends to do for you.

So whether its milestones achieved, new challenges being met, or encouragement toward loving God, we must remember that all of it is a gift from the one who knows us and loves us best! This season celebrate the Lord Jesus and all the greatness of his Kingdom.
